International Workers' Day
Well, it's the first of May, May day, or mayday! Mayday mayday - all the Commies are out in full swing! It's a holiday from noon, and so being at work today I missed both the drunken parties in the parks, the speeches and the big red flags everywhere. On the plus side, I did get holiday pay for the last 3.5 hours of work.
Since I came back from the US with 5 new pairs of shoes, I decided to start trying them all out. Yesterday I decided to wear my five fingers to work. Everything was going fabulously until about 2 pm, that was about my limit. Luckily work was kind of slow, so I could sit, but they are definitely not something I'd wear everyday. Comfortable, and breathable, but not enough padding. And of course the day I wear them is the day that I first experience one of our safety needles malfunctioning... Fabulous. Maybe they are night shift shoes only, when we have a sleeping break and when we don't do tons of meds or needle stuff. Anyways, everybody had something to say about them and there were lots of "Oh you crazy Americans" comments.
