And we're back!

So I went and lost my USB stick that had the last weeks worth of Australia journal entries, which is why they never appeared online.  But after careful consideration, I've decided to start my blogging again.  It will be considerably more boring, seeing as a) I'm back in DK, and b) I'm back in DK and it is now winter.

Now my first post was going to be about how thrilled I am to have a new Mac.  And my very first Mac at that.  Mac Attack is what we are going through here at ....(Steffen doesn't want me to write the address, in case of burglars).  First I got an iPod (this was actually all the way back in 2002), then I got a second iPod (2007), then I got Henry, my iPhone (Nov 2008), and now, just weeks later, my MacBook Pro (2008 model even!).  I wouldn't have a Mac (yet to be named) except that my old IBM laptop was showing signs of old age.  Most importantly, it showed signs of old age in front of Jóhanna yesterday, who appropriately freaked out since we are writing our thesis on it.  She promptly ordered Steffen to buy me a new laptop, and when she orders anybody to do anything, they just do it.  So, today Steffen produced a brand new Mac.  BUT THEN, we get it home and the F button doesn't work.  Something is stuck behind the key...!  Now F might not seem like the worst button to have malfunction on you, but consider what important words contain the letter F:  Steffen, frankfurters, fallopian , Folketinget and Facebook?  Luckily for me, Steffen remains calm in crisis situations like this (oddly enough).  He started searching online for instructions on removing the buttons and then produced a miniscule screwdriver which he then used with some tape to lift and swipe under the key.  When he removed the tape there was a tiny tiny tiny screw stuck to it.  Small enough that Steffen doesn't think it matters.  Big enough that I'm ready to storm into the store and demand a new laptop.  But now the buttons works (obviously) and I have calmed down again.  But it all cost Apple a couple of points.

Besides this minor setback, I'm already loving this machine.  It is sleek, it is fast, it is clear and crisp.  It syncs with Henry and updates my contacts and my calendar.  Lovely.  I think Jóhanna will be pleased.

Time for bed here, I am hoping to wake up to snow.  The weather forecast said snow all weekend, so fingers crossed that there is some good cold weather.  Look for some pics soon, not of anything in particular, but just pics.  Good night!
